We all have a beginning point, and mine started where I was born: Woodstock, Ontario Canada. Yes, I am a hockey fan! My parents, brother and I moved to Southern California in 1962. I was seven years old then. Since then, my mother and brother were called home to be with the Lord. Even though our family was getting smaller, it started to grow again when my son married and had two children: Isabella and Mateus.
My hobbies and passion have changed slightly over the years—like most people, so today I would say my hobbies are motorcycle riding (long distance), golf when I can and hanging with good friends. My passion for seeing people come to, and grow in Christ has never been stronger. I hope that never changes!
My introduction to First Christian Church started well before I joined the staff in January 2002. Living in Southern California, fully engaged in business and my church—Coast Hills Community Church—I sensed the Lord calling me into ministry. With affirmation on my calling—then thirty months later graduating from Vanguard University—and a seven-month bi-vocational season, I was called to FCC for full-time vocational ministry. I love FCC, and have felt welcomed since my first day!
My areas of ministry at FCC vary from small groups, membership/baptism, special events, family ministry with our student and children’s ministry leaders and more, but my core ministry has not changed: Connect people to Christ, one another and serve the Kingdom by serving others. My favorite part of ministry is to see someone “get it” about who they are in Christ, and then baptism followed with discipleship.

I love food—everybody knows that! My favorite eatery is where our small group meets on Tuesday nights, which rotates from house to house. The food is incredible!
Do I have a “life verse”? After thirty-five years of being a believer, my answer is still no. There are many verses I love, but not one over another.
Factoid: When I graduated from Vanguard University at the age of forty-four, my dad gave me my grandfather’s Bible, and that is when I learned he was a minister in Ireland before moving to Scotland where he met and married my grandmother.
Factoid: In 2013, I rode cross-country on my motorcycle raising money for Ebenezer Church in Honduras for their VBS program. In 2014, I wrote a short book about my experience. If you would like a copy, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will send you a pdf copy of it.
Discipleship Essentials by Greg Ogden. This is an excellent small group study
The Goodness of God by Randy Alcorn. This is another excellent small group study
Killing Jesus by Bill O’Reilly. This is a history book, not theology. I loved it!
