In October of 1999 a help ministry of First Christian Church was formed to aid members and friends with unanticipated practical assistance needs around their homes. This service is available to those in poor health, single parent families, widows, seniors, and those with physical disabilities. Offered as a Christian service of love, staffed by an all-volunteer team and involving no labor cost to the recipient!
It seem like there is always something that needs fixing around the house. A broken light fixture, torn screen, collapsing fence, exhausted water heater, plugged drain, stuck window, unsafe walkway ... just to name a few. These are the type of problems Men-On-A-Mission can help solve.
Men-On-A-Mission consist of men and women organized into teams. Each team is called upon to work one Saturday every three months. For the most part the identified needs are scheduled for accomplishment on the second Saturday of each month and involve a four to six hour commitment. Each team consists of seven to twelve individuals with the knowledge needed to perform the assigned work.
