Mission Team USA Purpose
The purpose of Mission Team USA is to serve as the focal point for FCC missions that are within the USA, and beyond the confines of the Napa Valley. Many opportunities to become a partner in ministries committed to strengthening the U.S. Christian witness are everywhere present. The FCC Missions Team USA examines where FCC support in a partnership with various missions organizations might best be made. This may involve financial support as well as direct and indirect involvement by FCC members. The purpose is to facilitate Christian education programs, distribution of bibles, equipping individuals for full time Christian service, and/or the planting of new churches or sending agencies. As of 2004, the Missions Team USA is overseeing, receiving requests for support and acted upon these requests through this ministry team organization. The goal is the building of a strong and enduring relationship with those we support through this ministry. The goal is to glorify Christ through involvement of FCC resources, both human and financial.
Mission Team USA Objectives
The general goal of Missions Team USA is to administer funds and to facilitate the involvement of FCC members with this ministry. The work involves keeping in touch with all those whom the FCC supports in the USA, other than the Napa Valley. The Team is involved in communicating to the church staff and the church membership what the Missions Team USA is all about and what is happening in the “field”. The Team will participate with the other missions teams in communicating and encouraging involvement in missions by the church body. The Team will participate in other co-operative efforts to emphasize and communicate missions supported by FCC.
Missions Team USA Prayer Support
The Team will plan and arrange for prayer support for each missions organization or projects that are supported by the Missions USA Team as well as other individual requests received by the team.
Activities and Opportunities
John & Pat Sidorski are team members. (2004) They co-ordinate and cooperate with the Global Mission Team and the Jerusalem Mission Team in efforts to highlight missions and mission involvement opportunities to the church body. Activities might include helping with displays, kiosks, handouts, bulletin messages, power point clips and pulpit segments to highlight how members of the congregation might get involved with missions in some way.
