My introduction to First Christian Church started well before I joined the staff in January 2002. Living in Southern California fully-engaged in business and my church—Coast Hills Community Church—I sense the Lord calling me into ministry. With affirmation about my calling then two and half years later graduating from Vanguard University and a seven month bi-vocational season, I was called to FCC for full-time vocational ministry. I love FCC and have felt welcomed since my first day!

My areas of ministry at FCC vary, but my focus is to connect people to Christ, one another and serve the Kingdom by serving others. My favorite part of ministry is to see someone “get it” about who they are in Christ and then baptism. I know the church can do all things through Christ but at the same time, the body of Christ has a tremendous amount of pain.

I love food—everybody knows that! My favorite eatery is where our small group meets on Tuesday nights, which rotates from house to house. The food is incredible!

I have been asked before if I have a “life verse”. After thirty plus years of being a believer, my answer is still no. There are many versus I love, but not one over another.

Factoid: When I graduated from Vanguard University at the age of forty-four, my dad gave me my grandfather’s Bible and that is when I learned he was a minister in Ireland before moving to Scotland where he met and married my grandmother.

• I recently read The Goodness of God by Randy Alcorn and highly recommend it.
• Another book I have recommended for years is Experiencing God (workbook) by Henry Blackaby; it is life changing!
