As we have all seen, heard and read in the media, Katrina ripped through several coastal communities in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama leaving in its wake a path of destruction and devastation. The death toll continues to rise while there are many people still missing. It will take months to quantify the loss in damages and assess clean-up efforts. It will take years to restore and reconstruct the areas demolished by the hurricane.

In response to this great need within our own borders, OM USA is implementing a strategy to provide help and assistance to those hit by Katrina. We will be working with churches and partners in the "impact zone" to help them get back on their feet and minister to those whose lives have been turned upside down.

A team from our Tyrone office will be coordinating efforts to communicate with church leaders and recovery teams in the hardest hit areas. Based on the information and feedback we receive, an appropriate response plan will follow. Details of this work are incomplete at this time, but we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

It is our desire to provide funds for clean-up, reconstruction and ministry financial obligations for these fellowships in need.
