Mrs. Hollabaugh’s sixth grade class at First Christian School has exciting news for the entire church body. This spring these 9 and 12-year olds, along with their courageous teacher, plan to make the first annual 6th grade trek to Washington, D.C. to partake in a Christian walk through our great capitol. Obviously, raising funds to support this goal is an enormous undertaking, but this remarkable group, their teacher and a handful of parents are determined to make this a reality and tradition for the children at FCS. Now the good part!
Christmas is coming, right? Well, these creative kids have come up with a way to simplify your shopping, make money for the D.C. fund and offer “something special” to the church family.
A lovely selection of karat gold crosses and lapel pins are being offered for purchase. Included is this beautiful custom designed piece by Paul McCluskey. Paul, a well known local designer, is donating his labor which allows the pieces to be available at greatly reduced prices. ALL proceeds will go to the Washington, D.C. fund. This is definitely a win-win situation!
A cross can serve as a touchstone for our faith. It can be a gentle reminder of His love and sacrifice. It is truly something special…Christmas seems the perfect time to give such a gift. It is an opportunity to share your faith in the form of a fine piece of jewelry. In addition, your purchases will help send the first of many to follow (God willing) from FCS to Washington, D.C.
The crosses and lapel pins will be displayed for viewing and selection throughout the coming weeks. Please look for us at the kiosk between services on Sunday or call the McCluskeys with any questions at (707) 255-4507. A custom order can take up to two weeks, so think ahead should you be interested in one of Paul’s uniquely designed pieces. God Bless! |
