Why we support those in need: “What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has not deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well, keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:14-17
Complimentary gifts: Mercy, helps, love & encouragement.
The Benevolence Ministry has been an active ministry at First Christian
Church for over sixteen years. We are funded entirely by
contributions from the church body.
First Christian Church launched the Napa Valley Mission Team in 2000 with the expressed purpose of reaching out to the community to meet the needs of the community and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We do that by:
• Receiving referrals from family members, friends, other churches, Catholic charities, Salvation Army, Social Services and various shelters in town.
• Serving people from the community with food, medical needs, housing utilities, rent, car repair, clothing, emergency travel, toiletry needs, counseling and emergency housing. We do not give cash directly to any recipient.
• Helping between 125-150 families annually during the Christmas holiday season with food and gifts for their children. FCC members provide the means of distribution for these items.
The Benevolence Ministry serves the Kingdom of God by serving the community of Napa for His glory!
